Haven’t posted in a while.
Summer’s almost over and another school year begins. Been learning various skills online recently and it’s been fun and interesting. Also keeping up with current readings and theories as much as I can.
The world is wild though. It’s hard to live “normally” when climate change is so palpable with extreme weather intensifying and natural disasters more frequent. It’s anxiety-inducing just to think about how bad it can get.
Despite how overwhelming this is, the only way is fighting for a better future. There’s no other way. I think about all the youths I teach and how they must live through all of these disasters that they had no control over. Their futures were compromised before they were even born.
Yet there’s more momentum than ever given the rising up of Global South countries against Western dominance. And the increasing militancy of the masses. I think there’s significant potential in making a new future.
I know that in my life time I will not be able to enjoy the new world even if it succeeds. But future generations will. And it’s worth it for the broader society to continue living on this planet.
